pkgrename's Issues

Recycle Bin Pkg files

With recursive subdirectories it should skip the recycle bin and other hidden directories.

"$I4IJUED.pkg"
File is not a PKG: "k:$RECYCLE.BIN\S-1-5-21-775778504-1851103982-645274329-1001$I4IJUED.pkg".

retrieve pkg metadata to instead of renaming

Hey, first of all thanks for this great tool.
I am currently looking into automating the process of generating a repository which can be used by https://www.4pt-project.com/ . The Repository requires a name and type to be set ( https://github.com/victorrjimenezz/4PT-Repository#adding-packages ).

For this it would be great to have the information the pkgrename tool is parsing in a machine-readable form to transform the data into the repository format.
Right now this does not seem to be possible with pkgrename, is there any way to get the information anyway?
Cheers!

Can't compile on Arch Linux

Trying to compile on Arch Linux I get this output:

gcc -Wall -Wextra --pedantic pkgrename.c src/*.c -o pkgrename -lcurl -pthread -s -O3
/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/ccu9iCDJ.o: in function `parse_directory':
scan.c:(.text+0x420): multiple definition of `parse_directory'; /tmp/ccH5in0V.o:dirparse.c:(.text+0x10): first defined here
/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/ccH5in0V.o: warning: relocation against `first_run' in read-only section `.text'
/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/ccH5in0V.o: in function `parse_directory':
dirparse.c:(.text+0x1c8): undefined reference to `pkgrename'
/usr/bin/ld: dirparse.c:(.text+0x312): undefined reference to `first_run'
/usr/bin/ld: dirparse.c:(.text+0x31c): undefined reference to `first_run'
/usr/bin/ld: warning: creating DT_TEXTREL in a PIE
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Is it possible to include Linux binaries in releases?

Backport question

Not an issue but how the program detect the pkg is backported? I’m not familiar with C. Nice tool btw.

-p and --pattern argument don't seem to be working

Program seems to be working great but when I try and add the pattern argument it doesn't want to work.
example if my .bat is this:

pkgrename.exe -r -p "%title% (%title_id%) ({v%app_ver%}) ({SDK%sdk%})" %*

then I will get this:

Entering directory ".\CUSA00000 Example Game-A0100-Scene
"Example Game.pkg"
=> "(v) (SDK).pkg"

If I remove the pattern argument it works correctly using the default pattern.

UTF-8 beta feature characters

After enabling the UTF-8 beta feature: Settings - Time & Language - Language - Administrative language settings - Changing system locale... - Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support I can say rename D.pkg successfully to Déraciné.pkg but i can not rename Déraciné.pkg to something else (without renaming it say back to D.pkg first).

"Dracin.pkg"
Error while opening file "k:\Dracin.pkg".

Region

Maybe you could take the first 2 characters from the %content_id% so region can be part of the file name?
