modlinks's Issues

Disallow invalid folder names

Windows doesn't allow certain folder names, with as result that certain mods may be installed weird.
The current pattern is

<xs:pattern value="[a-zA-Z].+"/>

while the characters \, /, :, *, ?, ", <, > and | are not allowed in folder names.
I'm not sure if linux or mac have any disallowed characters besides these.

[suggestion] Add a "SpoilerFree" tag

Add a tag for spoiler-free mods. That would allow players using installers such as Scarab to only display mods that don't contain spoilers. This would be very helpful to players who want/need to use mods in their 1st playthrough.

Optional author(s) field

Hello! It would be great to be able to see who to credit for all the mods listed here, what would it take to add an optional "Authors" field that can be pulled from this list? I wouldn't expect mods to be backfilled quickly, but new/updated mods could have the authors added, and it would be great to be able to pull that into various other mod listing tools that source from this list.

Assuming this change just requires adding the field to Schemas/ModLinks.xml, I'd be happy to create a PR for this too! It looks like it would basically just require adding:

<xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1">
  <xs:element name="Authors" type="mm:AuthorListType" />
</xs:sequence>

[request] i don't know where to post plugin requests :(

hi ... i just want a simple mod: change the overall game speed (slower or faster)

it so frustrating to me that i find some bosses so damn fast... i dont want invincibility or 1-hit instakill... i am sure if the game would a tiny bit slower i could follow the pace without getting overwhelmed with controller hittings

.... but i don't have tools to search the mod, the ModLinks.xml file is not so friendly to do searches and a search for "speed" just gave me "speedrunning" related mods... not what i want

is there any centralized way to request/discuss mods without contacting every developer by one?, or to add "tags" or "keywords" to mods to categorize easier? .. or maybe, an online mod/modlinks browser tool?

thanks
