thunderbird-obsidian-export's Issues

RSS feeds

Hi @hogmoff

Thank you again for this plugin that I use every day and which is very useful. I have an additional request. I also use thunderbird for RSS feeds and I would like to be able to capture certain articles in the same way as emails in Obsidian.

Currently, the plugin tries to capture the entire html code which causes problems quite often. Do you think it would be possible to keep only the summary as content... or even to have a dedicated template for the feeds?

Link to message

Hi @hogmoff

A new idea. I will find it very interesting to be able to return to the original message in thunderbird from obsidian. Do you think it would be possible to integrate the possibility of a link to the message into the template?

It seems that other plugins offer it --» https://github.com/KNHaw/ThunderbirdObsidianClipper
I also use the Cb-thunderlink solution which allows you to have more durable links even if you move the messages into thunderbird.

What do you say ?

Support for thunderbird version 128

Hello @hogmoff ,

The new version 128 of thunderbird called "nebula" brings changes to the appearance of the menu which makes your magnificent plugin incompatible.

It would be wonderful if you could enable compatibility with the new version.
Thanks in advance.

Adapt the name of the author of the email

Hi,

Thank you again for this plugin which is essential for me on a daily basis. I would simply like to make an adaptation that I can't find, probably because I'm bad at regex...

Currently the insertion of the author's name appears on the form "FirstName Name" <[email protected]>

In general this is not a bad choice but when we want to insert this field in the YAML metadata it produces an error because Obsidian does not know how to read it. It would probably be possible to use a formula to get FirstName Name instead?
