100r.co's Issues

Simple Typo on bikes page!

On your Bikes page, you've typed ilan key in the first paragraph when I believe it is Allen Key.

Just a small typo!

Typo in "bits"

"Bits" is spelled as "bites" here (it might be a bit confusing to someone because of resemblance to "bytes"):

add_part(&assembly, "basics", "<ul><li><b>Bit</b>: The smallest unit in computers. It is either a 1 or a 0.</li><li><b>Nibble</b>: Half a byte, or 4 bites. </li><li><b>Byte</b>: 8 bits together form one byte, a number from 0 to 255. Bits in the byte are numbered starting from the right at 0.</li><li><b>Short</b>: Two bytes put together is 16 bits, forming a number from 0 to 65535. The low byte is the rightmost eight bits.</li><li><b>Hex Number</b>: A HEX number consisting of 4 numbers is 16-bit.</li></ul>");

Suggestion: build.bat

For anyone building on windows using windows subsystem for linux seems like a good option.

I've had success building with the following build.bat script

pushd "%~dp0"

::  convert line endings
wsl sed -i -e 's/\r$//' build.sh

::  piggy back build.sh
wsl ./build.sh

popd

Is such a script and instructions for using WSL of any interest to you? I'm not sure who else may wish to build from Windows other than me. :)

Broken link

Hi there, found a broken link on your website and got incentive from it to report it. The broken link is this https://100r.co/site/work_station.html and I followed it from here.

Well, other than that, it's impossible to write something here without saying how impressed I am with all the content you are putting on your website and the work you do on the tools you are deploying. Be safe out there and keep up. Thanks!

Ahh, please let me know if possible when you fix the link.

Suggestion: eSIMs

Read this about SIM cards. These days there are some prepaid providers that offer eSIMs. Very limited device support, I'm personally searching for a mifi type device that supports eSIM, but there are a few phones around. For example https://silent.link works in a variety of regions I believe. Also, the iPhone specifically can store multiple eSIMs and switch between them at will. Easier than tracking physical SIMs, although some downsides as if the phone is offline, then the eSIMs are unavailable.

Anyway, couldn't see a contact form anywhere, so writing this here. Apologies if you don't have a contact form because you don't want suggestions such as this.

"Radio" link on https://100r.co/site/raspberry_pi.html doesn't work

It leads to https://100r.co/site/the_radio.html but the page doesn't exist.

<p>Our media station is a <a href='http://osmc.tv' target='_blank' class='external'>OSMC</a> powered <a href='raspberry_pi.html' target='_self' class='local'>Raspberry Pi</a>. OSMC is a fast and beautiful operating system for the RPi board, it instantly gets media from our external drives, and streams audio to our <a href='the_radio.html' target='_self' class='local'>Radio</a> via Airplay.</p>

Should it lead to https://100r.co/site/raspberry_pi.html#radio_pi instead?

Photo Filter(question)

Hi, those Photos on your site look very comfortable. Which camera or the filter you use to process those photos. Hope you can reply. Thanks~

What happened to Poodle and Moogle?

Had fun with them a few months back and I can totally find Noodle in the repo and the live site linked from the XXIIVV wiki, but the links for Poodle and Moogle are dead dead dead.

Hugs from Klövsjö [normally Stockholm],

Why C?

Interesting choice to use C to handle building the page. What was the thinking behind it? Why not write all the pages in HTML?

Duplicate link in https://100r.co/site/resources.html

In the Documentary section, A Rogue Mariner on the upper Thames and The dinghy cruising companion link to the same youtube video.

Shouldn't The dinghy cruising companion be in the Manuals section without link?

RSS Feed

It would be awesome if you could create an RSS feed as an alternative to an email newsletter. Thanks!

I'm happy to help provide more info about how to set this up.

Broken link

There's a broken link to https://100r.co/blog at the bottom of this blog post (where it says via Hundred Rabbits).

Linke to Raspberry Pi is broken

Hi Devine and Rekka, thanks for sharing your great stories, it's motivated. And I found a link in https://100r.co/site/tools_ecosystem.html to https://100r.co/site/raspberry.html is broken, Perhaps you could take time to handle it when you guys can access to internet:)

When we arrived in New Zealand, even if we were near a big city, with resources, we still didn't have access to power. We would have to continue to rely completely on solar. We invested in Raspberry Pi hardware, to replace the ChromeBook.

Year off by 20?

Great site, Thanks!

In some (more recent) titles the date seems to be off by 20(years).
for example:
100R - insulation/ where the link says: "23.04.03" (link vs title)
100R - home/ in the section "April 2023": "https://100r.co/site/thruhulls.html#apr2023"
100R - about us/ in the section "Main work stations" - "23.03.03 Currently awaiting a keyboard replacement." (>03<)

Broken link: "self-published books"

In "Summary of changes for December 2023": "News" there is a broken link:

"Wiktopher was released on paperback! Our small collection of self-published books is growing."

The link for "self-published book" is https://100r.co/site/media/content/inventory/wik_bdn.jpg

... which leads to the "page you are looking for does not exist".

Thanks - Paul

Uxn: build.sh File Not Found

The build.sh file not found in the uxn linux binary that I downloaded from https://git.sr.ht/~rabbits/uxn website.

I have already installed sdl2 on my arch linux distribution.

Extra newline (firstline) rss.xml

Hi,

Chrome errors on trying to render the rss.xml page (this also might impact some rss readers)
image. It looks like the problem is here, where there is an empty line at the start of the backtick. I don't want to submit a PR without testing, though.

Thanks!
