About Conference

PyConf Hyderabad is the regional gathering for the community that uses and develops the open-source Python programming language. PyConf Hyderabad is organised by the Hyderabad Python User Group (HydPy) for the community. This conference is about sharing of knowledge, experience and allowing the growth of ideas which could lead to spillover of stronger ties between developers and users of Python with human interactions.

About Us

Hyderabad Python User Group (HydPy) is community driven group to promote Python in Hyderabad. HydPy has been conducting monthly Meetups & workshops in Hyderabad for last 3+ years and it has over 12000 members on meetup. We work together with other communities in particular, python and in general Open Source Software (OSS) related groups within Hyderabad and the rest of India to further expand the usage and increase users of OSS. HydPy is a recognised regional community by Python Software Society India (PSSI) and global Python Software Foundation (PSF).

Local development

Check if you have all requirements for local environment. To install all development dependencies install Bundler.

  gem install bundler

and run next command from root folder:

  bundle install

To start Jekyll run:

  jekyll serve -w

Site will be available at http://127.0.0.1:4000/ or http://localhost:4000/ (on Windows)

Make the navbar to be fixed at top

As of now, when I scroll the navbar disappears as soon as I reach the speaker section and navigating back to home page or another section becomes difficult for user. So it will be a good idea to have navbar fixed at the top.

The Buy Tickets button is little smaller in width, it needs to be little wider

Fix the about text on the website

Currently, the about text is taking about HydPy group rather than PyConf Hyd conference

We need to add some background to this conference and talk about the previous year's conferences.

Session management Tasks

• Airmeet testing
• Guidelines for speakers
• Email speakers regarding the talk video and rehearsal
• Program guide for attendees
• Assign volunteers for session management, helpdesk, announcement, lightning talks
• Checklist for session chair
• Airmeet training for session chair
• Form for lightning talks and selection
• Create speaker lounge and volunteer lounge in zulip
• Channels for track1 and track2 (QnA goes here)
• Announcements to go in #pyconf-hyd

All 4 keynote speakers needs to come in a single row (desktop view)

Currently, the keynotes are listed vertically one after another which doesn't look good

Create and update favicon for website

• Create a minimal logo for favicon
• Update favicon for website

Add hamburger menu in mobile in place of navbar

Speaker and talks details are to be added for all of the speakers in the schedule

Paul Ganssle is a software developer at Google, CPython core developer, maintainer of python-dateutil and setuptools and contributor to many other open source projects.

He lives just outside of Hartford, CT where he spends his free time as traveling companion to a friendly dragon who roams the Connecticut River Valley in search of his lost treasure.

Fix ci build and deploy integration

Create an FAQ page for PyConf Hyd 2020

Refer the previous FAQ page as a reference, questions & answers would have to be changed as per this year's scenarios.

Deploy preview is unavailable in PR builds

After the PR check build, deployed build is failed to find resources and preview is unavailable.

I tried with removing 2020 from the URL, could see able to access it properly.

Add social links for community partners

As of now few community partners data has twitter links available and they should be added on the website.

Add a Hamburger Menu in Mobile View

Add a link for Community Partner in both Navbar or Ham burger menu (for both desktop & mobile view)

Paul Ganssle's keynote box in the schedule doesn't have correct background color

Currently, the background colour for Paul's keynote schedule on the first day is coming as grey, it should consistent as the first keynote
