Sidewalks Prop Adjustments

Adjust sidewalks so they are cracked/taken over by nature.
No hard edges on items.

Coin VFX

An effect that disperses coins when they are collected by the player.

Fuel Pump Dispenser

should have a place that fuel comes out of

consider that players pay coins for stuff

Implement Bomber Zombie

Shoot zombie, stops for one sec, blows up anything in radius.

If bomb zombie gets in radius of player, it stops for a second and blows up

Sphere cast to check if players are in radius. maybe check for enemies as well.
Could use code from Grenade

Implement Coin

Players should be able to pick up coins,
Picking up coins should feel polished.

rotate while idle
Pulse, move to player, shrink, despawn

Bat Trace (VFX)

Create a VFX effect that has an effect connected to a melee weapon that plays when the weapon is swung.

Bash Upgrade

player can spend coins to upgrade amount of damage bat does to objects and zombies

Sound for bat

-swing sfx
-hit sfx

hit sfx should be mixed louder
sound squishy and woody

Radio Voice Lines

Write out and record the voice lines for the train's radio for them to be played in the game yipee

Assets for shop

Fill out space in the shop with new assets so it doesn't feel as empty as it is.

Train Station

Creating the Layout for the train station/starting area (Making the shell of the building)

Train SFX

Recreate train sfx, use variation in the layers

Program Bash

Player presses LB, bat anim plays

Destructible objects should break when hit with bat - check tags

Healthbar shows when damaged, will fade away after some time

Enemies should be knocked back and damaged when hit with the bat

Cooldown for melee so players cant spam

Make clear visuals for what is breakable!

There should be a clear indicator for what stuff is breakable.

In Dying light, yellow surfaces can be climbed on

Not sure if it should all be the same model or if we should go with a texture color

Make healthbars show when hit

Enemy and player healthbars should have an opacity of 0. If they take damage the healthbar opacitiy should be set to one. Over time it should be decreased back to 0 if they do not take damage.

Vending Machine Model

Vending Machine Model and Texture for the following:
Health Upgrades

Damage Upgrade

Gun Impact VFX

A particle effect that displays a bullet exploding when hitting an enemy.

Bomb Explosion VFX

  • Create a simple explosion for the bomber zombies
  • Zombies will hold bombs and will explode after a period of time.

Implement Encounter UI

Horde incoming should be animated to zoom in from left and right

Horde kill counter needs icon

Add punching dummy to tutorial

Use castle crashers as reference. There should be a punching bag looking thing to try shooting that doesnt ever die but displays damage numbers and looks like it got it.

Barrier that can be broken down but needs to come back

Fracture With Meshes

Get fracture to work with meshes
-spikedBarrel
-barrier

Notify Mack as well
-make meshes break on specific component hit with tag "bat"
-need to look at ignoring collision for pawns and ai pawns, so navagents and players dont get stuck

Enemy Spawn Pacing

Blue enemies should only spawn after 1st shop has been reached
Gold enemies should only spawn after 2nd shop has been reached

Create bat model

Create bat for bashing
-test bat and character scale in engine

Bat Swing VFX

  • Update the current swing VFX effect to use a mesh rather than a particle trail.

Barrier VFX

Make hitting the barrier feel destructive for shooting and the train. Maybe a particle effect with stone pieces flying out?

Create more assets for the shop

Creating objects like boxes filled with the soda buffs. And maybe other things to fill up the shelves I made a couple weeks ago.

Adjust props & other Assets

During playtesting on 02/23/2024 -- many players spoke about getting stuck on assets and props within the level chunks.
Many of the items causing the issues were the spiked barriers, while other areas had unknown collision issues near ramps and some building assets that need to be looked into.
I intend to adjust spiked barrier positions or find a way to make spiked barriers more visible to the player.

Horde SFX

Sound fx for "survive the horde" horde growl

fx for killing zombies during encounter and sound goes down
