The Currency Converter - an extension of Currency Data

Purpose

This is a project designed to showcase my ability to create a simple web application using HTML, CSS and Javascript. It will also demonstrate my ability to use Git/GitHub and to test/debug my code.

Requirements

This app will:

  • load data from an external source (API)
  • display items in a list
  • provide the ability for the user to get details about a list item by clicking on it
  • will use at least one additional complex UI pattern, such as a modal, for details, or touch interactions
  • not produce any errors
  • be formatted according to ESLint rules
  • be deployed to a publicly accessible platform
  • work in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer 11
  • show loading indicators while loading data
  • handle errors (such as trying to load data while offline) and show user-friendly error messages
