mq-atom-mqsc's Introduction

IBM MQ MQSC syntax highlighting support for the Atom editor.

Adds syntax highlighting for IBM MQ MQSC command files to Atom.

There are two files included in this package for testing changes made to the syntax highlighting system.

  • example.mqsc = This file simply shows an example valid MQSC file
  • TEST.mqsc = This file is a more indepth test and includes valid and invalid syntax

mq-atom-mqsc's Issues

Atom Highlights keywords incorrectly on escaped lines

If we have the following MQSC:
SET CHLAUTH(THIS LINE SHOULD BE HIGHLIGHTED) +
ALTER AUTHINFO(THIS LINE SHOULD NOT BE HIGHLIGHTED)

Both the SET CHLAUTH and the ALTER AUTHINFO will be highlighted. However because of the escape character (+) at the end of the first line ALTER AUTHINFO should not be highlighted as it will not be read as a keyword by runmqsc in this instance, but as a continuation of the SET CHLAUTH line.

Comment in example.mqsc incorrectly labels QLOCAL as persistent

The comment above the definition of a QLOCAL in the example.mqsc is incorrect. It currently reads:
* Define a persistent queue for testing
DEFINE QLOCAL(Q1) DEFPSIST(YES)

In terms of persistent messaging it is the messages that are persistent not the queue. The comment should be adjusted to correctly reflect this.
