betterhomebrewbrowser's Issues

Can't change categories

When trying to navigate to other categories using the touchpad or joystick (all>games>emulation etc), nothing happens. When i use to arrow button to navigate left to right, the list changes but the 'ALL' category remains highlighted. This means I don't know which category i am in. Thanks

Can not install apps through BHBB: errors/crashing

When I choose to download an application and it downloads right away, my vita crashes, sometimes while it’s still spinning, sometimes mid-download. If it is added to the que, it fully downloads, but when I am prompted to either ‘install’ or ‘save file’ and I try to install, I always get a “could not install[E-afffffe]” and the action is not completed.

Never had this issue with the old HBB; Any ideas what the issue might be? Thanks.

Worst

worst homebrew browser.

Action Buttons not working

I had the issue of only being able to utilize the touchscreen, and the analog sticks to navigate between the options, the D-Pad and X,O, Square and Triangle didn't worked

Also, after opening the app, my entire Vita stopped working in everyone of these buttons I mentioned that didn't worked

Latest Version Tried: 0.3B

Error 0x80101104

For some reason every time I try to download an app it gives me this error, I hope this can be fixed in the 0.61 version!

Reproducable Crash

The application crashes if I select CBPS DB as the source, The crash occurs right when the "extracting" bar is finished. However, VitaDB works well. To me this sounds like it could have something to do with memory space, I have approximately 8GB free space on my SD card.

Error 0x0 on all downloads

Device: PS TV
FW Ver: 3.65
Program Ver: V0.61B
Source(s) Used: Vita DB and CBPS DB
Details: Error occurs immediately upon clicking the download button for an application. Prints the following message:

Error adding to queue Error 0x0

Replicated issue across the following apps:

Retroarch Bubble Builder
Bartender
Crystal PSM
Autoplugin II

Attempted to Terminate BGDL and reboot app/system w/o success
Installation of all three apps using the old VHBB works successfully (albeit painfully slow).

EDIT: User Error. Download Enabler v5 is no longer part of the vita.hacks.guide required steps, and is required for BHB to work. Installing plugin fixed download issues.

App freezes and crashes the entire console upon starting

Hello,

I'm using a Vita 1000, Henkaku Enso 3.60.

I installed the latest release of the app, V0.61B. When I run it, I can hear the music on the background but the entire system freezes. I can't even press the PS Button to go back to the live area, so I am forced to turn off the console (which makes the PS button blink).
This happens every time.

Is there a way I can provide logs to help with this issue? I have no idea how to get debugging logs from Vita.

(Feature request) Other alternative databases as sources and the inclusion of PSP homebrew.

This app is one of the best options to get homebrew on our consoles and in my opinion it is on par with VitaDB downloader, since although it has more options, I like the BHBB interface most: the touch capability, it is visually more pleasant and easier to read, and especially for the possibility of downloading in the background.

Another of the things for which it stands out is the ability to use both VitaDB and CBPSdb as sources to obtain VPKs and their data files, since as is known, not all the content is found in the different databases.

Would it be possible for you to incorporate other databases and PSP content, (VitaDB app list just a few) which is massive and forms a big part of the PSVita homebrew story?

I think it's important that a lot of that stuff is still accessible and preserved, plus the PSP scene never ends, and after all, those creations are natively usable on PSVita.

To achieve that I wanted to suggest if you could incorporate brewology.com as another alternative database, which although it seems to have been abandoned recently, has the largest amount of stuff of all kinds, especially from the early eras of both PSP and PSVita scenes, content that is very difficult to find anywhere else.

PSP: https://www.brewology.com/downloads/?dcid=1
PSVita: https://store.brewology.com/vita/homebrew.php?lang=

On the other hand, it would be good to also link to the content of Gamebrew.org, which is a relatively new site but very well curated and very comprehensive, in addition to being made as a Wiki.

PSP: https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/List_of_all_PSP_homebrew
PSVita: https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/List_of_all_Vita_homebrew

Both sites have a lot of unique material that is not found in VitaDB or CBPS, but beyond that, I think it is good to have more sources as alternatives, which function as mirrors in the event of a crash or catastrophe in the common sources.

Thank you very much for all the work done so far!

(C2-12928-1)

Evening all,

I'm a bit out of touch with the Vita scene, (due to two small kids and wife) so my vita is probably on outdated stuff, at last check my Vita is on h-encore 3.68. (Spoofed 3.74). I saw a recent video on your product and installed iTLS-Enso today (literally the latest release) as recommended.

Unfortunately I'm getting the (C2-12928-1) error.

I'll be honest, I'll probably need specific guidance, I'm competent just out of touch by a year or three 🤣🤣

Kindest thanks

James

Cannot download anything

It says could not find a valid source for download

What happens is that I click download and it says that "could not find a valid source for download"

Only a few apps can be downloaded for some reason and won't say the line

When I press the download button it loads for a while and then displays the error

  • Tested reinstalling as well as rebuilding db
  • Tested by trying to download different items to confirm it's not an issue with just one file
  • tested rebooting
  • checked storage to make sure there is enough storage
