Final edits needed for the final pre-conference application

We need to finish up the pre-conference application so that Jo can send it off on Thursday.

Create sponsorship email to send to potential sponsors

Similar to #4, we need to create an email template (or several) that will let us quickly contact potential sponsors for the pre-con hackathon. I suppose it would be easiest to just create this in Google Docs, but could also create a markdown file.

Create commhack-2020 website

We briefly touched on this, but I think it is a great idea for dissemination and resources. Since many people will be unfamiliar with the concept and structure, the website can be a centralized hub for information, organization (e.g, project and break-out proposals), and other resources (e.g., the PNAS paper on hackathons). I'd suggest a simple page with github pages will do. I definitely recommend against creating a github repo with info, because this might already shy away some folks.

Need to check on AV costs at venue based on room

We had a question in our meeting on 8/27 re: final costs for AV at the venue. Should just be a simple email to the conference hotel or perhaps to the ICA leadership.

Reach out to Game Studies / InfoSys / CAT for sponsorship

We mentioned in our meeting on 8/27 that a good way for other IGs and divisions to get involved would be to sponsor a group of people to go to the pre-con.

CSaB is willing to sponsor 2 graduate students and 1 faculty member to attend the pre-con.

Create sponsorship doc to send to potential sponsors

We need a document (or several versions thereof) that can communicate the core goals of the pre-conference in order to solicit sponsorship.

Description, objective, potential project ideas, sponsorship levels, schedule draft

• Pay “x” to get hackathon on website
• Pay “x” to get logo on intro slide
• Pay “x”, for a table
• Pay “x” (over 1k) to have the opportuity to give a 10 minute talk
• Etc

Schools who want to look more computational may pay a bit to get their logo on the page/site
