Corporations are destroying our world

Describe the bug
Corporations are self-sustaining social constructs whose interests run largely counter to the common good. They have the same rights as people in many parts of the world, but can exist much longer and exert much more influence than any human person ever could. They are committing mass murder against Earth's population with their destruction of our environment and climate, and the sacrifice of human lives in favour of profit.

What is the better alternative?
Some ideas:

• Use federated systems, shun centralization
• Support human-owned small businesses
• Organize in a cooperative instead of corporation
• Support strong labor unions

Scope
Please identify:

• how many people are affected: all of us
• how negative is the outcome: severe, people are dying that should not, and it will get worse.
• what area is affected: the entire planet
