anicode's Issues

curl output shows up when fetching the unicode database

It also exited with exit code 1 not doing anything else.

Cannot install due to missing dependency: getopts

I'm trying to install with fisher anicode but it fails with:

Unicode url does not exist anymore

An error should be printed to the user when curl fails to download the csv file. No unicode.csv file should be created in that case.

The current url is invalid because the version changed.
We should use the link that always point to the latest version: https://unicode.org/Public/UCD/latest/ucd/UnicodeData.txt

fisherman/get missing?

I get the following error after installing wither fisher.

anicode('s use of choices) fails on fish 2.5.0

i recently updated to fish 2.5.0, and since then this plugin doesn't work properly anymore:

quote search string before passing it to grep

currently, our README example doesn't work:

igalic@sinix ~> anicode yellow heart
grep: heart: No such file or directory
yellow heart was not found 😢
anicode 'search param'
igalic@sinix ~ [1]> 

we should quote $what before passing it to (a)grep.

add option for word-boundary based match

i realized the feature that i most use in anicode[1] is grep's word-boundaries feature to limit the amount of characters it matches…

$ anicode dog

matches all DOGRA characters[2]

whereas '\bdog\b' matches…

$ anicode '\bdog\b'
1) ⺨   CJK RADICAL DOG
2) ⽝   KANGXI RADICAL DOG
3) 🌭   HOT DOG
4) 🐕   DOG
5) 🐶   DOG FACE

which, most of the time, is what i want.

That's the equivalent of passing -w to grep, so perhaps we should expose this option
