KickStart 2017

Kickstart 2017, a Code Jam competition, is a series of six online rounds of algorithmic quizzes -- all designed by Google engineers. From your own home, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to get a glimpse into the programming skills needed for a technical career at Google, while at the same time showing off your own talents. The top participants from each round may be invited to interview for a role at Google.

CodeLabs for Developers

Google CodeLabs (https://codelabs.developers.google.com) is an interesting platform which provides guided tutorial and hands on coding experience. It is interesting and different from the other coding platform in the sense that it contains tutorial of most of the new things that google is offering and we as a student would get to know lots of new technologies and furthermore the source code is provided along with the tutorial.

Not sure if it's already mentioned.

You get a whole lot of stuff with the github for education pack if you have a .edu email address with yourself

Google colaboratory

Google Colaboratory

Colaboratory is a Google research project created to help disseminate machine learning education and research. It's a Jupyter notebook environment that requires no setup to use and runs entirely in the cloud.

Colaboratory notebooks are stored in Google Drive and can be shared just as you would with Google Docs or Sheets. Colaboratory is free to use.

GSoC 2017

Google Summer of Code is a global program focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development. Students work on a three month programming project with an open source organization during their break from university.

Contribution needed in Hackathon Team Builder project

The coding club of IIITV will be organizing a Hackathon in the upcoming month.

We have decided to use a web portal for registration and team making process so that we do not have to go on with manual headache. Also the team creation process will be fun.

There seems to be no limit on the number of apps you can host and no bandwidth limits either. And it is by@Fogcreek, the folks behind trello. So you can be guaranteed it will be awesome.

Offline documentation systems

Zeal is an offline desktop-based documentation viewer supporting many popular languages and frameworks. The docs are fully searchable by topic. http://zealdocs.org

Terminal Email Client - Mutt

Recently while watching videos on YouTube, i founded this amazing terminal email client which is pretty fast (cached 7000 mails in a sec) and also time saving, if you have a terminal workflow. It also enables us to send email with attachments straight from the terminal. Very handy tool. Link
