Keyboard and touchpad hint

Hi

I have similar device on hands (Irbis NB111) and I found that keyboard and touchpad is works after wakeup from S3 once I restore vendor's Windows 10 image. After that I can boot back to Linux and keyboard and touchpad now works after wakeup from S3.

However, as soon as device discharge to 0% at least once issue is back and I need to boot Windows 10 again. It's seems like Windows driver HingeAngleDevice could be responsible for restoring keyboard and touchpad function after wakeup from S3. At least this is what other Teclast F5 owners said on 4pda forum

hibernate mode

hi. thx for usefull link. i have Bodhi linux (based on ubuntu 20.04 - it consume ~300mb after fresh install of RAM only).
and very close hardware - chuwi lapbook se.
I installed Bodhi, then changed BIOS settings regarding to yours screenshots.

System - Suspend works!
but i have issue with hibernate mode. When i choose System -> Hibernate it doesnt work. Can you help me or contact me with private message please!
my current kernel: 5.4.0-72-generic

Wifi not supported

Hello,

I have installed ubuntu 20.04 today and thought that adding your packages would help to get the wifi to work.

I followed your instructions for pre-compiled mods (bios and packages) but ubuntu can't find a "supported wifi adapter" (it worked on windows). I have tried different solutions found on the internet :

• Adding the code for the 3165 from intel to /lib/firmware https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005511/network-and-io/wireless.html
• and tried to rename them like they do here : https://itectec.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-how-to-install-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-3165-drivers/
• also tried this one (in french) : https://www.debian-fr.org/t/tuto-carte-wifi-intel-dual-band-wireless-ac-3165-sur-jessie-debian-8/71424
• Tried "dmesg | grep iwl" but it returns nothing and "rfkill list all" only returns the Bluetooth hci0 :
  0: hci0: Bluetooth
  Soft blocked : no
  Hard blocked : no
  (found these commands here : https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2382682 )

I am able to connect to the internet through the Bluetooth connection but it's only a few kB/s.

Have you been through a similar problem? Do you have an idea to solve it?

EDIT: I have version 3.05 of the BIOS, I think I will try to update to 3.06 as recommended here: https://techtablets.com/forum/topic/teclast-f5-bios-update/

Battery consumption S3

How is your battery consumption during S3 state? Mine was ~ 15%/5hours, so around 3%/hour. It's not too much in absolute energy if you look at the numbers (~0.8W), but relatively it still seems quite high.

Validate the kernel fix for Teclast F5

Upstream kernel fix to address this problem:

Linux 5.10rc5 and newer.

OR

Linux 5.9.11 in backport form.

Need 3rd party to confirm that the modified v5.5 kernel version works on another person's vanilla Ubuntu 20.04 install, and fixes the S3 wake issues with the trackpad
