Dedicated slot in weekly call to plan about Hardware Hackers Club

The gap b/w hardware and software is widening and shrinking at the same time, the reason we started HHC as a fork of ILUG-D. It has been a little stagnant for sometime. I propose we keep a dedicated 20 mins slot for hardware specific discussion in weekly call about:

  • Things to do
  • How to promote
  • Workshops plannings
  • Creating hardware assets for the community (fundraiser?)
  • H/W specific videos
    etc

Virtual FOSS Conference - India

Discuss points to organise a PAN India virtual FOSS conference :

Key Highlights:

  • 1 to 2 day virtual conference
  • 2 to 4 Keynote talks
  • Record talks and play during conferences or deliver live option
  • Only speaker and host in room
  • Discord server for hangout and individual channels for QnA
  • Digital assets
  • Sponsors
  • Participating communities
  • Marketing strategies
  • Platforms to use
  • Panel discussions
  • Lightning talks
  • Workshops

Get someone to be the treasurer

Since we would be taking in the domain, we would need someone to collect money for the renewal. And of course in future we plan to host other things too on the domain, so for that we need to maintain our expenses, correctly.

Divide the active contributors in proper teams

Since the number and scale of things which needs to managed is growing day after day, it should be better if the people are divided into proper groups, like

  • Design Team : Works on the posters and other design related tasks.
  • Sysadmin Team : Manages the domain and servers related to ilugd.
  • Promo Team : Manages the social media ( Twitter, FB, Youtube ) and mailing lists.
  • Proposals Team : Checks talk proposals and keeps up with the speakers.

These are just some examples we can add or remove from the list. The teams won't be exclusive and right now I guess we can divide teams based on the prior type of contributions. After deciding the teams, if some one new wants to join, they can do so by contributing regularly, ๐Ÿ˜„

Add "checklist" to talk repo issue template

Adopted from Python Pune

 Checklist
Place an '[x]' (no spaces) in all the fields you agree to. You can keep the fields blank on which you don't agree

The talk/workshop speaker agrees to,
- [ ] Share the slides, code snippets and other material used during the talk
- [ ] If the talk is recorded, you grant the permission to release the video on ILUGD's YouTube channel(LINK) under [CC-BY-4.0 license](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)
- [ ] Not do any hiring pitches during the talk and follow the Code of Conduct(LINK TO COC)

Weekly GNU/Linux Discussions

ILUGD is becoming more of FOSSUGD, having more or generic FOSS discussion than hardcore linux discussion which is okay but to justify membership of people based out of interest on Linux, I would like to propose the following:

  • Pick one GNU/LINUX based topic / sub-system / controversy / update
  • Discuss it in the group like IRC for one hard hour

this can be done once a week and topic can be announced before hand and also topic of next week discussion will be announced at the end so everyone who have no idea about the topic can learn to have say or questions.

  • Discussion can be started by posting a related video / article / update etc

Ideas welcome.
