Hi Rob, thanks for fast reply. Not sure how to adjust the bevel on the curve (I am new to blender), but I found the fix in your excellent Tips&Fixes tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n63CxVIQ7Tw&list=TLPQMDgxMTIwMjHFEqPqOcslwg&index=1) on 10:00 ff. min (load the file in Google Earth Pro, click on route icon and save the file with a new name). That process seems to get rid of some elements that disturb the process.

Many thanks!!

Hi Rob, I have now updated to 1.2.1. Great update and tutorial!! But the KML import is not working. File not found error python. The KML is generated via a website (not Google Maps) but it fully works within Google Earth Studio itself. Any idea? The workaround described above did not work. And the python error message is much longer now.

Thanks!!

Hey Rob, that would be great!!! I like to visualize existing routes and they usually come in such a format. Very cool and many thanks!!!

Hi Rob, happy new year. Great stuff! I can confirm that the import works! Brilliant! Important remark is to uncheck "follow terrain" option. Also the terrain information works. So no second json file with manual terrain information needed. Great ease! And it is possible now to use KML files from geo platforms like alltrails. Maybe worth a video with indepth explanation. The only thing I am currently struggling with is, that the markers start and end are not absolute, but somehow relative. They "jump around" in the blender animation and so does the route. In Google Earth Studio all works fine. But I cannot create the animation in blender correctly. Also in the rendering section the animation jumps around. I don't not what the markers are relative to. They do not keep position. Could this be related to the different KML format? Would be great if you could comment on this! I could also provide you with more data, if you think it could be format related. Thank you and best wishes, GS
