I’m @imbstack, I like building tools. Sometimes those tools are used to build other tools. This makes me happy.

I spent the last year in Port Townsend learning how to build wooden boats. Now I'm back to the world of building imaginary things inside computers!

Datamapper needs to be girdled or corseted.

Our database needs some constraints! Look at http://datamapper.org/docs/validations.html for info on how to do it.

Less is not being used correctly

Use it as a javascript thing rather than serving it up from the backend.

Value of items is strange

At the moment, adding an item with a value of 100.00 will result in datamapper spitting back up 0.1E3. This seems wrong.

Classic style to modular style conversion

The app is currently in classic style, meaning that all of the logic is contained in a single file. It would be nice to convert to modular style, which is much closer to the Rails structure. The process for this conversion is described in the Sinatra documentation.

Datamapper extended types

There is a datamapper plugin/extension that allows us to cram more data types into fields in the database. It would be nice if this were turned on. It should be as simple as using a gem and updating some fields in the schema definition to their more appropriate counterpart.

User should not be able to review if already reviewed

A user already can't duplicate review an item, the only problem is that they aren't told this and there is no indication of what goes wrong when they do. This should be fixed.

Datamapper Gem

We are currently including the subprojects of datamapper and the datamapper gem itself which includes all of them. Is there a reason why?

Profile Update

Users are now sent a temporary password when they forget theirs. This is all well and good except they cannot updated their password upon receiving this. In fact, they cannot update any part of their profile. A page where users can update their info would be nice.

Buy a Domain Name

Right now the project website is listed as being sharemat.ch . You guys don't own or haven't set up that domain and that makes me sad :(

Also, I don't want any excuses about how hard it is to buy a chinese domain... so don't try them!

make it faster

sharematch is so slow when i tell it i need to borrow a chinchilla and 4 bags of road salt nothing comes up and even if i do get a chinchilla or even one bag of road salt it comes really slowly and i think you need to use a profiler and figure out why your site is so slow
