android-handbook's Issues

Refresh libraries section

Some of the libraries in the Libraries section are deprecated or simply not used anymore. New ones have become popular and regularly used by the team and we should update this section accordingly.

Buttons vs. TextView & on using Material components

Per discussion regarding the usage of Buttons vs. TextViews and the general usage of Material Design components on Slack in #team-android, we decided it's best to try and sum this up in the View styles section.

Thanks @mladen1nf for volunteering! ❤️

Fate of dev setup chapter

Decide what to do with Development environment setup chapter, as it has now been copied to the private section of the handbook as a subchapter.

Options:

  1. Remove it from public section completely
  2. Update public section to include only the bare necessities

Update Continues integration chapter

We are not using Circle CI any more. We need to update this chapter. Since there are still some projects on Circle that will be migrated when some work starts we need to have regard for migration and legacy projects.

[Status check] MVVM branch

An attempt was made over a year ago to write down some stuff about MVVM. A branch that has these changes (chapter/mvvm) is still open. Is there a plan to finish this or is it just out of date and should be deleted?
