openboarddata's Introduction

This project has been moved to its own website for now due to the way in which the data is being contributed via FlexBV; as such we needed a directly accessible online database to do the work.

OpenBoardData

Data for board repairs, including network volt, diode, and resistance measurements

Initial work in FlexBV FlexBV with OpenBoardData

Introduction

With board repairs, one thing that's often very useful to have on hand, aside from the boardview and schematic, is a set of known-good data values for networks, including diode-mode, resistance, or normal operating voltages; with this data complementing the boardview and schematic, it can facilitate the diagnosis and repair of faulty equipment.

OpenBoardData is a community contributed database of known good data values. There are no (current) limitations on brands or types of boards. New boards and categories can be added, and all data is in plain-text, easy to ready and add/ammend using only a text editor or even the Github web interface.

openboarddata's Issues

popup to update obData from within OBV/flexBV

it would be much quicker to update the obData files (and therefore contribute to a full-fletched knowledgebase) if there was a popup (maybe integrated in the annotations popup?) to update obData values.. (rather than remember the netname, search in obData file, enter values, reload boardview... asf)

OpenBoardView-R10.1 not working on Mac

OpenBoardView-R10.1 with openboard data support will get installed on Mac without any issue.
But App is not opening. I am using High Sierra 10.13.6
Any solution??

Share some data between board files for troubleshooting

Some boards share the same net names and it will be nice to share the troubleshooting steps between them, for example 820-00165 and 820-3437 both could share the same steps to fix the backlight or SMC etc, it will be nice to have a common file for troubleshooting those 2 boards but keep the other info like net names etc separate.

How can I use this type of data?

I have got the OpenBoardViewer installed.
I expect to convert the TXT. into BRD. BDV. or something like that.
But my question is how?
I would be happy about a hint.
