Shitcord is a Discord API wrapper for Python 3.5+. Wambo and me
had the idea of developing a lib that is so user-friendly that it won't ever overtax any retard.
However, this was a joke in the beginning. ;)
At this point, the library became a serious project with focus on usability, flexibility and clean code.
This library is sarcastic and ironic but does a great job though.
Indeed, there is a whole bunch of libs on GitHub. However, most of them are outdated, incomplete or have some bugs. This is why we wanted to create a fair alternative to those libs.
Yeah, yeah, but there are still discord.py and disco-py. Why should I use Shitcord instead of one of these libs?
Questions like these will always be answered with "use whatever you like". We personally dislike some design aspects of both libs, discord.py is missing Voice Gateway event dispatches, and both of them have partially shit docs. We don't want to indicate that these libraries are bad, but still these aspects were reasoning enough for us to develop our own library.
You have multiple options for installing this library:
$ python3 -m pip install -U shitcord
$ python3 -m pip install -U git+https://github.com/itsVale/Shitcord@async#egg=shitcord
$ python3 -m pip install https://github.com/itsVale/Shitcord/archive/async.zip
$ git clone https://github.com/itsVale/Shitcord
$ cd Shitcord
$ python3 setup.py install
Shitcord has some nice docs here.
You will find lots of useful explanations, examples and nice hints. It's highly recommended to check
them out before you start using this library.
Also, check them out for examples on how to get started with the lib.
