is-vowel's Issues

Uppercases don't work

const IsVowel = require('is-vowel')

console.log(IsVowel('A');

The expected output is true, as A is vowel. It logs false instead.

Diacritics don't work

const IsVowel = require('is-vowel')

console.log(IsVowel('\u00e5' /* å */), IsVowel('\u0103' /* ă */));

The expected output is true true, as å and ă are vowels. It logs false false instead.

Remove the need for an external lib

As we just have five vowels, make more sense to store those vowels inside a const array instead of using an external lib to check the vowels.

Poor error handling for non-string inputs

The function IsVowel() doesn't have a descriptive error handling for non-string inputs.
Examples:

• IsVowel({}) raises Uncaught TypeError: input.toLowerCase is not a function
• IsVowel() raises TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'toLowerCase')
