solution too complex

the offered solution is too complex as it refers to multiple tables.

this question can be answered by a simpler method using just the trans table :

select floor(avg(numtrans)) from
(select account_id, count(trans_id) as numtrans
from trans
group by account_id) q1

select account_id, count(trans_id) as numtrans
from trans
group by account_id
having numtrans > (
select floor(avg(numtrans)) from
(select account_id, count(trans_id) as numtrans
from trans
group by account_id) q1
)

#step 1 - identify the no of trans per account using a group by inner query
#step 2 get the avg of that query as a temp table inside the query. answer 192
#step 3 using the same group by query again, add a having clause and we will end up with only those accounts with a higher no of trans than the avg
