A simple hostel management system with an admin module and a student module

This project is about a Hostel Management System(HMS) which is a software developed for managing various activities in the hostel.

Tools used:

• Python
• Django
• HTML
• CSS

This particular project deals with the problems on managing a hostel and avoids the problems which occur when carried out manually.

The project HMS is developed to mainly focus on basic operations in a hostel like registering new students, new staff and their roles, updating new information, recording student leave details,managing fee records, mess details as well as updating the mess menu.

The system is divided into two main functional modules. The modules work independently but they all conclusively contribute to the system functional specifications. The main modules of the system are the following:

1. Administrator Module
2. Student/User Module

The Admin/ Student Log in Page Interface: this is a Login page that lets Admin and Student to validate their credentials to navigate to home page. . The initial email and password for the administrator are: EMAIL- [email protected] PASSWORD- 123user

Running the App

--> Move into the directory where we have the project files:
cd hostelmanagement
--> Install the requirements:
pip install -r requirements.txt
--> To run the App, we use:
python manage.py runserver
⚠ Then, the development server will be started at http://127.0.0.1:8000/
