bee basically eighty eighty

bee is an open source language for the Intel 8080 platform. It started out as simply another implementation of the BASIC language, but with the dawn of my open8080 project, it has shifted bases from BASIC to an abstraction of 8080 bytecode to a higher level language. Currently, it just interprets the code, but hopefully it eventually will be able to compile it to a form runnable by open8080.

Usage

To interpret bee code

bee -i main.bs

To compile to 8080 assembly

bee -o main.bs

To assemble the 8080 code

open8080 -a a.out

Building

Clone the repo:

git clone https://github.com/jacob-hegna/bee

Move to the folder and build

cd bee
make
make install

It will install to /usr/local/bin/bee.

To remove bee, simply run make remove.
