Deprecation Notice

This Magisk module was an alternative (workaround) to the GoogleDialerMod Standalone APK version, created to try to overcome the access storage limitations that occurred on Android >= 11.

In November 2022 it was deprecated to keep only the APK version, which no longer suffers from those bugs.

Therefore, this repository will no longer be updated.

Please use only the APK version repository to download new updates or to report issues.

How Does It Work?

In every Android device there is a database, called Phenotype.db, managed by Google Play Services, containing special flags that affect the behavior of all Google applications installed.

Some of those flags concern Google Dialer core functionalities, while others are about hidden or upcoming features not yet released.

What this module does is execute SQLite queries on that database and overwrite Google Dialer configuration files to enable or alter its features at will.

Current Features:

• Supports arm / arm64 / x86 / x86_64 devices and (hopefully) all Android versions
• Enable / disable hidden features for all users at once when Android "multiple users" mode is in use
• Force enable call recording feature even on unsupported devices or in unsupported countries
• Silence the annoying "registration has started / ended" call recording sounds

Not Working

It's not working on my Pixel UI ROM OnePlus 7 Pro. The APK version works, but it has to be re-applied after rebooting the phone.

Unable to detect architecture

Get an error message not being able to detect cpu arch.

Installed on anroid 10 arrow and that just did not make a recording error, everything worked on android 12 arrow, but the recording notification did not muffle

file location

I am using the magisk module by itself -no APK, and it works great!
But is there a way to change the default save location for the recordings?
As it is now I have a folder shortcut on the home screen and then transfer the file to a "recordings" folder after the call.

Option for toggling other flags absent

Hi there @jacopotediosi ,
Totally loved your google dialer mod( non magisk version). I could enable call recording and silencing...as well as other hidden flags...but in magisk version I could not find a way to modify other flags...How to achieve that? I am interested in the magisk version as it can survive ota and other upgrades.....

Not silenced notifications about recording call

What's working: call recording appeared and works within unsupported region (Ukraine)
Problem: both of users hears "registration has started / ended" sounds - it's not silenced

Android: 11 (oxygenos 11.2.9.9.LE15AA)
Security Patch: 2021 september (2021.09.01)
Kernel: stock
Additional magisk modules: SafetyNetFix

Also, i tried to uninstall this magisk module and install apk version
After numerous reboots, start/stop dialler app, reswitching toggles (notification toggle were failing and goes back to off) - it works now
something seems to conflict with these sqlite requests

Will provide any additional info, just let me know how to
