peer-blender's Issues

Charcount and embed

Some tasks need to have "at least x characters." It would be great to have a counter that says how many characters have author of the task written.
Also there are some tasks that are written in html or markdown etc. It would be great to have a live-view of everything we are typing, for example embed from dillinger.io or something like that.

Review status "problem" is a bad name

Reviews labeled as "problem" are mainly:

  • reviews where the reviewer made a mistake (solution is expected, often even announced from the review's author)
  • reviews where an additional input from reviewer is required (might not be a problem)
  • bad reviews (misinformed, evil, snarky, offending, ill-argumented — a problem really)

Something like "waiting for reviewer", "input needed", "unresolved" might be a better name for this.

Ideas to promote adequate reviews

  • current solution: takedown by assistant or a teacher
  • better access to various problems in solutions and reviews
  • reviews by experts (assistants, teachers)
  • ad hoc expert reviews
  • selecting role model reviewers after several units

Checkbox based review structure

3-star scale requires precisely specified unnecaptable-wrong-good statements, checking for several independent metric might be (imho more often than not) a better solution.

Chat adjustment

There are a few issues about chat feature:

  • It doesn't start at the end of previous conversation. (Maybe it do but it takes a long time.)
  • Sending by press "Enter" would be nice.
  • Long text string is partly hidden behind the "Send" button.
  • When "Send" button is pressed, nothing happens for a while. (Impetuous people can send the text more then once.)
