imagezoom's Issues

Zooming in an image, being unable to see the top

Firefox 47.0.1
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
1680*1050

  • In the browser, show only an image (not a web page, just an image link like http://i.imgur.com/XqybYsf.png )
  • Zoom in the image until the top of image is off-screen
  • Try to move around to see all the parts of the image, you're unable to see the top it is off-screen and you have to unzoom to be able to see the top part. Other parts (right, left, bottom) can be visible by moving.

Use in composition?

I have trouble with iPhone photos being rotated when pasted into an Outgoing TB message. Thought Imagezoom would allow me to rotate the image before sending but when I right click the image I do not get the Imagezoom context menu nor can I resize the image with scroll wheel. It works on received images and sent images but I don't have a need to rotate an image that was sent to me or that I have already sent. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get it to function when I am composing a message and including a photo? Thanks..

0.5.2 status text compatibility problem

Just copied from AMO, by circcc:

0.5.2 status text feature have problem with status text addons like Status-4-Evar, Status Box. Once image zoom status text is displayed, it is not disappear. Please make status text turn off option or fix it. Thanks. (FF20/WinXP)

I can confirm this problem in Fx21. win7.

Not able to zoom past max-width and max-height values.

When those are present in "style" attribute (perhaps in css too, haven't tested those), picture won't get bigger than that limit. This happens on some websites or when more than one extension/userscript is present and is rather inconvenient. The fix seems pretty straightforward, so I hope you'd see fit to incorporate it in the next version.

Image Zoom Caused Errors Right Clicking On An Image

Uninstalling/disabling has right click image functionality working correctly again, but with the add-on enabled, simply right-clicking on an image gives, the error console spits out the following error:

Not working properly since ff 47

since ff 47, zooming on a image may end up with the top of the image being hidden out of the page while the scroll bar of the page is maxed up

either from the mouse scroll or from choosing a zoom value from context menu

also either from the image being viewed alone or from inside a web page

uninstalling / reinstalling changes nothing

Thunderbird, Feature Request: Automatic "Fit Image" on Load

Hi there,

Thanks a lot for this great plugin. I just wondered, if it is possible to automatically fit all inline images to the dimensions of Thunderbird's mail viewport, whenever an email is opened? Currently I always need to right click all images, and select "Image Fit" from the context menu. Would be great, if Thunderbird did that automatically.

Thank you!

Print as Zoomed

Hi!

If I print an email with zoomed images the pictures on the printout are not resized.

This would be nice to have :-)

Alex.

Feature Request: Auto-fit img when displaying img directly

It would be great if there was an option to auto-fit an image to the screen if the browser is displaying an image directly (not embedded in a website).

In the mean time, I'm also looking through the source, and trying to figure out if it's possible to use a Scriptish/GreaseMonkey script to trigger ImageZoom's image fit method.

ImageZoom does not work on recent Thunderbird releases

The latest published version, 0.6.3, of ImageZoom does NOT work on recent Thunderbird releases (24.5.0 is what I'm on). Since this add-on is a great concept and got great reviews on previous releases of TB, I hope you will fix this problem, so ImageZoom will be usable again.

Zoom Background Images and Text

Hello,
I like Image Zoom , but I miss to zoom Background Images.
When I want to zoom this pictures, I always use "CTRL" + "Scroll Wheel" or "CTRL" + "+ or -". Then Pictures and Text will be increased or decreased.
Is it possible to integrate this function to Image Zoom.
Example:
Go with the cursor to Background of Webpage, then hold down the right mouse button and scroll the mouse wheel back and forth to zoom in and out the complete page.

Thanks for this wonderful addon

right-click on image after loading -> zooming doesn't work

Load a page with an image bigger than your screen so that you see a plus symbol on your mouse while hovering over it.
press right-click -> context menu is opened

click on the image to zoom in -> only the mouse symbol changes to a minus but the image isn't zoomed in

if you reload the page and click on the image before pressing right-click then zooming works fine and you can press right-clicking as often as you want

the issue only appears for the first time a key is pressed I think.

this might has to do something with:

FF 46.0.1; Mouse controls no longer working

The plugin is no longer accepting inputs (right-click+mouse wheel). Still able to change image zoom levels via the context menu. Removing and reinstalling the plugin and restarting FF did not resolve the issue.

Unexpected Rapid Zooming

Image zooming behaviour changes randomly.

Sometimes the image zooms as expected, with each step of the scroll wheel the image zooms a small amount.

Other times, the image zooms unexpectedly, where the image zooms quickly and zooms too far not respecting the steps of the scroll wheel. So with just a small move of the mouse wheel, an image can go from a small size to overflowing the screen. This makes it very hard to actually zoom to a desired size.

I've been using ImageZoom for a long time, and this behaviour has only started recently I believe... in the past couple months I'd say.

I'm running the latest version of firefox on Windows 8 and am using a Logitech Performance MX mouse.

Thanks for any help,
Peter

Right click always sets width/height styling

Problem:

Currently - when right clicking on image, then releasing mouse - will always set style="width:...px; height:...px" (even when not using any functions).
This happens no matter what keys are assigned or even when mouse functions disabled completely..

This can be bit annoying when working with firebug (right-click -> inspect) = as will add new (width/height) styling that sometimes overrides existing image's inline styling...

Solution: It would be preferable not to add w/h style until any imagezoom function is used...

Feature Request

If possible, please allow automatic image resizing to the window size with options for width or height. A auto width default is very useful as images are getting larger and larger, and the screens no longer 4:3.

None of the right-click options work

Recently upgraded Firefox several versions to the most recent (45.0.1).

Right-clicking on an image brings up the Image Zoom menu but none of the items do anything.

German Language Defect

hi,
i am using imagezoom with a german firefox and windows. up to version 5.x everything was fine, but after updating to version 0.6 or 0.6.1, the german context menu appears in a language which i do not understand. it is neither english nor my local language, german.

inside the imagezoom.xpi, there is a chrome.manifest file and there is a german language information. "de chrome" which links to locale/de (which indeed seems to be the german language source, but there is also another one, named locale/eo and this is definitively not german language.

can you fix that please?

FEATURE SUGGESTION

I love Image Zoom... but it would be really helpful to be able to set a delay of a couple of seconds before an image or thumbnail zooms when hovering over it with the mouse. When IZ is activated, it makes it difficult to click on hyperlinks that use icons -- as is the case in many Facebook games for instance. Frequently an image zooms before I have a chance to click on it to access the link, and the zoomed image covers and hides the link. Then I have to go back and disable IZ and afterwards go and enable it again. I think an option for a slight delay in zooming the image would solve this. Thanks for listening!

Incompatible with Pale Moon Version 29.2.0 (64-bit)

Just got upgraded to Pale Moon 29.2.0 (64-bit) and now Pale Moon blocks the extension claiming " Image Zoom is incompatible with Pale Moon 29.2.0. - Image Zoom 0.6.3 (disabled)."

This extension has be VERY helpful to me over the years, thank you for creating it!

I know you have not been active in this code for something like 8 years. If you feel like fixing it, many will appreciate your efforts. And hopefully, its an easy fix,

Thanks, either way,
Rob

Versions 0.5.2+ Missing "Scroll Mode" Option

From version 0.5.2 and up, the options dialog is missing the "Scroll Mode" dropdown. Now all zooming is automatically in "Relative" mode, with no way to change it to "Absolute". Please put this option back in.

Feature Request

Hi,

Just wondering, since the extension performs image rotations, if you could please consider adding horizontal and vertical image flips? The flips could be added to the 'Rotate Image' section and reset by the 'Rotate Reset' option.

Thank you for a great extension!

No way to use mouse-functions using graphics tablet

I got the impression from the preferences dialog that I could, for example, adjust zoom by holding RMB and LMB-dragging, or adjust rotation by holding RMB+Alt and LMB-dragging. AFAICS though there is actually no way at all to access these without a scroll wheel.

It would be nice if this were an option, as otherwise it's impossible to access the mouse-functions with tablets whose stylus has no scroll wheel (ie. most of them)

0.5.4 on 64-bit Firefox variants needs 2 right-clicks to access right-click menu

I love your extension, but this problem has prevented me from moving to one of the 64-bit variants for quite some time so I thought I would report it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install 64-bit variant. I'm currently trying "Cyberfox" (20.0.1), but have seen this with both "Pale Moon" and "Waterfox" in the past.
  2. Find any graphic on a website, right-click and confirm right-click menu comes up.
  3. Install 0.5.4 of imagezoom.
  4. Find same graphic and see that the 1st right-click is ignored and the 2nd time it works fine.
  5. Repeat as needed. Each time, the 1st right-click is ignored.

Any ideas or suggestions? I would be willing to help out however I can.

Sincerely,
Mike

not working on ff 41.0.2

doesn't seem to work on ff 41.0.2

the icons of + - that were appearing on mouse hover on pics to zoom in, zoom out are no appearing, so it has lost its main convenient functionality,

we have have to access it through right click menu.

please revise it.

Still broken in 2017 while e10s is enabled

Assuming this extension hasn't been abandoned completely, it still doesn't work when e10s is enabled, with such hits as no context menu options, or right-click/scroll zooming always staying active, even when you've released the button, causing the image to remain in a scroll-zoom limbo no matter where the cursor is, or what you're doing with the right mouse button

This issue and others have existed as long as e10s has, and with multi-process Firefox being anything but an experimental feature in 2017, the least you could do is throw people a bone at this point, since there's no alternative to this extension in a world where e10s is the one thing that allows the Firefox family to maintain parity with Chrome and other multi-process browsers

Incompaible with Firefox 36+ E10S

Hi. Thank you very much for developing ImageZoom

Firefox 36+ now have E10S (multi-process), when it is enabled ImageZoom does not work, there is no right click options & fit with middle click does not do anything.

Cheers.

Feature Request: animated GIF frame stepping

Hi!
I like ImageZoom and use it a lot.
Since you're already tapping into images and have an image related context menu, could you maybe integrate frame stepping for animated GIFs there? Preferentially with only a checkbox toggle in the menu, and the stepping controls near or inside the image in latter case, visible only when hovered.
It seems there already is a GIF stepping extension using a shell, which of course is less convinient but might give hints on how to extract frames.

0.5.2 Using horizontal scroll wheel always increases image size

In previous versions, nudging the horizontal scroll wheel to the left would decrease the image size and nudging it to the right would increase it. In 0.5.2, the image size is always increased in both cases. Using the standard vertical mouse wheel works as expected.

Feature Request: Flip Images

I find the zoom and rotate options very useful but one thing I miss very much is an option to flip an image (actually two options: Flip vertically and Flip horizontally).

I'm a graphic designer and most of the time I'm looking for reference images. Sometimes I see a reference that could fit what I need if I flip the image. Now I have to download the image, flip it in Photoshop and then I can see if it really is what I need or not. If I could just flip the image on the fly before downloading, that would be great.

This also could be useful to see correctly images that are already flipped, of course.

Can this be added to the extension?

No-Key Activation, Default Activation by start Scrolling

Hi Developers,

i'm new in firefox extensions and little bit new in github.
i cannot see anymore so good like the days before computing...
i need the function without Activation Key cause i'll use Windows/Mouse-Pointer and Cursor since the beginning except DOS. i need that the function ca activate itself by using scrolling wheel, so the Option Activaation Key None or No would be the best for mine.
Thanx
