Weapon damage formula Fails with uppercase and the message needs to be improved

If the user inputs a valid weapon damage formula using uppercase, it fails returning 'damage: -invalid formula-'.
It should be helpful to provide next to the input box an 'i' icon for more info on how should the formula be:
[ integer : number of dices ][ d | D ][ integer : number of sides of the dice ][ + | - ][ integer: modifier]

Example failing input: 4D6
