torchat-mac's Issues

Which branch to pick?

In order to build/run tor safely, should I use the branch 'master' or 'tor-update'? The master looks outdated, but at the same time it's the latest official release, right?

The Tor version for windows comes in two version, there is an outdated one and a newer update. They said that it is highly recommended to update. Needs the OSX version this as well?

So many issues

  1. Goes offline randomly for no foreseeable reason.
  2. Block function doesn't work
  3. Takes forever to get online (would be nice to have some indication that torchat is even trying)
  4. Uses SO much CPU it's like I'm playing a full-resolution videogame.
  5. When selecting a username, their name becomes unselected sometimes immediately, sometimes within seconds, makes it frustrating to send files or show info, would be nice to just right click on a user to do that.
  6. Cannot remove buddies, torchat adds them back after a few seconds.

There are probably more issues I'm forgetting.

SOCKS request rejected or failed - Signature error

I'm using Mac 10.10.5
Torchat 1.2.3 (a704f70)

This began happening recently, and seemed to be a problem after a new friend tried to add me, although that's probably not related. The error messages are as follows:

From Globals:
[SMTorManagerErrorRetrieveRemoteInfo] Can't retrieve remote informations. {SMTorManagerErrorOperationSignature - Signature error]

and from all my buddy logs:
[TCBuddyEventConnectedTor] Buddy connected on tor SOCKS
[TCBuddy ErrorSocks] SOCKS request rejected or failed.

Please help? Thanks
