I tried the following code:

import spade
class PER(spade.Agent.Agent):
     class aaa(spade.Behaviour.PeriodicBehaviour):
         def _process(self):
             #print "Ola"
             pass

    def _setup(self):
           self.addBehaviour(self.aaa(2.0))
if __name__ == "__main__":
      aggregator_name = "[email protected]"
      aggregator_agent =  PER( aggregator_name, "secret" )
      aggregator_agent.start()

The memory use of the script were as follows (testePerBehaviourSPADE.py):
test

and for the runspade.py:
runspade

The problem was the use of _process instead of _onTick. I changed the name of the functions and now the use of cpu memory is 3%.

It's a a noob mistake however the framework should return an exception in this case.
More ahead it's a patch to submit.

Best regards.
