zot2bib's Issues

Zot2Bib does not seem to work with Zotero 5.0

Zot2Bib does not seem to work with Zotero 5.0. The announcement for Zotero 5.0 (2017-07-10) says: "Zotero 5.0 now runs only as a standalone application, and a new Zotero Connector for Firefox replaces the full Firefox extension. We’ve written a separate post explaining this change. Existing Zotero for Firefox users will be automatically upgraded to the Zotero Connector for Firefox within the next few weeks and will need to install Zotero 5.0 to continue accessing their Zotero data locally."

I wonder if Zot2Bib can be updated to support Zotero 5.0? If not, those of us who use Zot2Bib regularly will have to stay with Zotero 4.x as long as we can.

Zot2Bib stopped working on macOS 10.14.6

I can't seem to get Zot2Bib to open and import into BibDesk anymore, no matter if I choose a predetermined bib file or choose New Bibliography.

It worked fine up until last week. I tried past versions of BibDesk, but to no avail.
The only change on my system was the update from macOS 10.14.5 to 10.14.6 (I'm still on Mojave).
Could that have caused it?

Any suggestions?

(Because of issue #3 I'm still using Zotero 5.0.77. BibDesk is version 1.7.6.)

Zot2Bib does not seem to work with Zotero 5.0.81 (possibly due to changes introduced in Zotero 5.0.78)

I updated to Zotero 5.0.81 today and found that I couldn't access the Zot2Bib menu in Zotero; I clicked on the Zot2Bib button and the drop-down menu wouldn't appear.

Then I looked at the Zotero changelog and noticed that there is a note in the changes in 5.0.78 (December 1, 2019) that says: "Zotero 5.0.78 includes many internal changes, and some plugins have not yet been updated for compatibility. The most common plugins (ZotFile, Better BibTeX, Zutilo) have been updated."

So I downgraded to Zotero 5.0.77 (I had to replace my Zotero data folder with a backup in order to downgrade—always back up before upgrading!) and found that the menu still works, so I am sticking with Zotero 5.0.77 for now.

I am not using one of the latest supported versions of macOS, so it would be great if somebody else could test this with a recent version of macOS and confirm that the issue can be replicated.

exporting scraped PDF files

I'd love to see support for exporting scraped PDF files. I poked around in the code a bit but couldn't make sense of what might need to be done, but I really don't know anything about the inner workings of Zotero.

Is it a matter of passing the exportFileData option when calling the bibtex.js translator? Or is it a matter of setting an increased delay, so that the export to bibtex occurs after zotero has scraped the PDF?
