Bayesian Eikonal Tomography

MAIN FEATURES OF THE FORMULATION

  • forward problem

    -- Solver for calculating first arrival times using the eikonal equation.
    
    -- Isotropic acoustic medium
    
  • Numerical characteristics:

    -- Finite Difference Method (using Sethian's method to calculate arrival time)
    
  • Backward problem -- Inverse problem solving to generate a velocity model set by the reversible jump Markov chain Monte Carlo method - RJ-MCMC.


COMPILATION AND RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Compilation Requeriments:

    -- G++ compiler
    -- Boost libraly installed
    -- Armadillo library installed
    
  • Compilation:

    -- Use make file typing:
    
       make clean
    
       make tomo
    

EXTRA INFORMATION

  • To run this code, make download of the last version commited to a local repository.

  • Enter in examples/marmousi_2 directory and execute the following command:

    ./../../bin/seismic_tomography parameters_inversion.txt
    

The parameters_inversion.txt file contains the necessary parameters for inversion where each line of the file is commented with its respective use.
