Log to the log file specified in solr.conf, don't send output to /dev/null

In solr.start, the line:
nohup $COMMAND > /dev/null 2>&1 &

should be:
nohup $COMMAND > $LOG_FILE 2>&1 &

if it is actually going to log anything. Otherwise, there is no point to the $LOG_FILE variable.

die not available an CentOS 6.3?

Hi,

first of all ... great work.

Due to the error checks at the start of the main startup script. I get the message "-bash: die: command not found". Is it possible die isn't available?

Amazon Note

Awesome solution. I used this on an Amazon Linux instance, which is apparently sort of a Fedora CentOS hybrid. The initial Redhat check at the beginning of the init script failed, even though the script works perfectly.

Solr dead but pid file exists

For some reason, when using these scripts, on the first run, I always get 'solr dead but pid file exists'. It never happens from then on however. I have tested this on multiple boxes (10+), and they all have the same result. Doesn't work initially, but works everytime after.

All are CentOS 6.2 boxes incase you were curious. Any ideas?
