Nagios check that verifies that the Tucows Platypus XML API is working and optionally that the Platypus event scheduler has been triggered recently.

Usage

Installation

This is a go app. To install in $GOPATH/bin:

1. go get github.com/jda/check_platypus
2. go install github.com/jda/check_platypus

check_platypus's Issues

Clean up param parsing

Use flag for option parsing (including port number)

Add check for event scheduler run

Add check for time since last event scheduler run.

The event scheduler is run from windows scheduled tasks or similar and is easy to overlook in server moves.

List of events:

SELECT event_etid, event_next_run_time, event_active, event_desc 
FROM event_table

Last event:

SELECT TOP 1 eventlog_etid, eventlog_result, eventlog_msg, eventlog_date 
FROM eventlog 
ORDER BY eventlog_date DESC

I'm not sure if we need to check for success on the most recent run or if just making sure it's running is sufficient.
