This is a repository of some useful files for the subject "Advanced Mechanics of Solids (ME60402)" in the Mechanical Engineering Department of IIT Kharagpur. This subject is a mandatory one for the first year Master of Technology students of Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Mechanical Systems Design. It is also taken by some advanced undergraduate students as an elective.

4. Classical Plate Theory examples:

   • Circular plate: axisymmetric
   • Simply-supported rectangular plate under sinusoidal loading

5. Föppl-von Kármán examples:

   • Simply-supported rectangular subjected to uniform in-plane, uniaxial tension
   • Clamped circular plate subjected to uniform in-plane compression
   • Annular plate clamped along outer periphery and subjected to uniform in-plane compression

6. Torsion examples: Shaft with circular and elliptical cross-section; hollow cross-sections

7. Unsymmetric Bending: Matplotlib-based GUI to calculate centroid, second moments of area, and neutral axis for L-shaped cross-section

8. Shear Centre:
