Missing Tests for nil pointers

Need to provide tests for when new(Head) (or any other Node) is used instead of the New() function.

We need to be sure that all operations correctly handle a situation with nil pointers, or we risk having the lists break.

Ability to Add Columns to a Matrix

Implement the functionality for adding columns to a matrix

Ability to Add Rows to Matrix

We will need to be able to add rows representing partial solutions to the sparse matrix. What is going to be the most effective method for adding a new Row? Should we instead allow or enforce whole columns being created at once instead?
