How to build gchisto

mvn clean install

It will creates target/gchisto-<version>.tar.gz which includes gchisto binary and its dependencies.

How to run it

Extract the tar.gz and run the following command to launch gchisto:

java -jar gchisto-\<version>.jar

gchisto's Issues

/lib folder required and not integrated into jar

The /lib/ folder is required and it is not included in the build.

You need to manually copy it in the same folder as gchisto-1.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
The /lib folder contains: jcommon-1.0.12.jar jfreechart-1.0.0.jar junit-3.8.jar swing-layout-1.0.2.jar

Build fails as Target and Source versions 1.5 are not longer supported

Please add this to pom.xml:

<properties>
    <maven.compiler.source>1.6</maven.compiler.source>
    <maven.compiler.target>1.6</maven.compiler.target>
</properties>

It doesn't support flag -XX:+PrintGCDateStamps

If -XX:+PrintGCDateStamps is enabled, gchisto cannot detect the gc activities.
