bbsync's Issues

Script doesn't delete from sync device

I didn't want to initially automatically delete from the sync device. Maybe prompt user if they want all documents deleted after the script is run with a default of NO.

Document installation

Generic documentation on how to run the tool at least. Better with specific steps targeting specific platforms. Users I know are running Linux and OSX (which I know nothing about).

Hard coded paths!

Path to source (mounted device) and staging (local) directories are hard coded. Currently based on my system's setup, so it's even worse because absolute paths are used.

Fix by pulling this into config file, probably ~/.bbsync, and set some reasonable defaults on initial startup.

Don't always create merged pdf's!

Not a big deal for me right now, but long term it will be a pain if all merged pdfs are regenerated every time. Need to make this smarter and only generate the ones it has to.

Ability to incorporate other sources

Historically I have taken notes in text files and thought the sync would make that go away. I realized today that in some cases when I'm preparing for a meeting in the future it may be best to continue that practice. Therefore it would be nice to have a way to identify additional sources for notes. Because of how the bbsync script stages stuff in a directory it may be as simple as putting the notes in the target directory (project, date, etc based) and incorporate the text as-is. Re-running bbsync would also pull in any updates added as part of a meeting, if that's done. I usually have who is going, what I want to talk about, and notes from the actual meeting. Having the notes captured in a page on sync would be fine though correlating it with the text file may be a problem.
