icircles's Issues

Curves with touching edges

The following abstract description results in a drawn diagram with edges that touch each other, which is a bug.

a ab abc abcd abcde abcf abcg abch abi abij abijk abijl abim abin abio abp abq abqr abqs abqt abu abuv abuw abx abxy abxz abxz1 abx2 abx23 abx4 ab5 ab56 ab57 ab578 ab579 ab5! ab5@ ab5# ab5$ ab5$% ab5$%^

Removing the last zone results in a drawn diagram with no touching edges.

"Cannot fit nested contour into region" error (Red Screen of Death)

This is the error message displayed in the iCircles GUI when the "circles are too small" (according to
Gem), and which is accompanied by the Red Screen of Death. Using iCircles as a lib, it manifests itself as a Runtime error "match not found" (icircles.recomposition.Recomposer.java, ln 87). The following abstract description generates it (this is the abstract description for the node 'Object' in the SSN ontology):

a ab abc abcd abcde abcf abcg abch abi abij abijk abijl abim abin abio abp abq abqr abqs abqt abu abuv abuw abx abxy abxz abxz1 abx2 abx23 abx4 ab5 ab56 ab57 ab578 ab579 ab5! ab5@ ab5# ab5$ ab5$% ab5$%^ ab5& ab5* ab5*:( ab5*) ab5- ab5_ ab5= a+ a+[ a+{ a+{] a+| a+|; a+|;/ a+? a+?. a+?.> a+?.; a+?.;/ a+< a+` a+`/ a+~ a+~€ a+~€† a+~€†> a+~‡ a+~‰ a+~‰Š aŒ aŒ{ aŒ{] aŒi aŒij aŒijk aŒijl aŒim aŒin aŒio aŒŽ aŒŽ] aŒŽm

The inductive circles jar can draw this up to the zone ab5= -- after that (a+ and onwards) it can't be drawn.

Switch to new style tests

We currently have junit test which use the JSON input format and older-style tests which use the microsyntax. We have to maintain the old-style tests because they run graphically, which is useful, but this functionality should be incorporated into the new junit-style test. This can be done by making changes to the TestConcreteDiagram so that it (optionally) shows the results of the tests in a window.
