sitecoresitemapxml's Issues

Ping URL does not include the absolute URL to the sitemap.

The URL that the module pings the search engines with only contains the filename. That is, it's something like:

Http://google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/ping?sitemap=sitemap.xml

This doesn't tell the search engine WHICH website the sitemap resides on. It would be useful if that was included - either by using the local site, or honouring the "serverUrl" setting in the config file.

Package installed but sitemap.xml is empty

I have installed the package, updated the sitemapxml.config, selected the item template to use and peformand a publish but the sitemap.xml remains empty.

No errors occur and I don't know what is wrong.

Non-404 Exceptions in SubmitEngine are logged as 404s

The SubmitEngine() method assumes that any exception in the Try block must be for a 404 and mentions that in the log message. However, the error may be a more useful one, such as the 400 - Bad Request that you get from Google if you submit an invalid URL.

Hardcoded user account "extranet\Anonymous"

The hardcoded account "extranet\Anonymous" is used for sitemap generation. The account should be resolved by using the site's Sitecore domain and anonymous account from that domain.

This causes issues in multisite scenarios.

publishing error

I installed this module on our Sitecore 6.5 instance and I get a publishing error.
