Add year to connection in colleganza

Filter out marriages in the same family

Add a brief history of the doges and patricians

Clarifying how marriage networks are processed

Marriage networks are actually bipartite networks; reducing them to one-mode losses the information of when a party is bride or groom. When analyzing families, we lose the information of marrying between different parts of the same family. It's not trivial how to take that into account. It would be interesting to check different ways of doing it.
Two possible ways:

Using "male" and "female" nodes. Might be reasonable, due to the different roles males and females played.
Duplicating nodes, and making connection between them as powerful as the inter-marriages there are.
Some other way: creating a single node, connected to the family node, with a weight that is equivalent to the loop

This might help as a stepping step for #36. Possibly as a different paper.

Complete Doge family data

Some historial terms are not well explained

According to #35, there are several terms, like those referring to the different types of ducal families, that are not explained in the state of the art. Try to cover them completely, including explanations before they are mentioned.
Check that this is effectively true in all cases.

Leave the analysis of how intra-family marriages grow with size for another paper

It seems that it grows with the square of the number of marriages, which is what we have for family size. So it might grow with the square, meaning that it helps establish links between different parts of the family.

Start #17 by converting to knitr/latex with the journal format

Deal with double names like Anna or Maria

Once the paper has been written, a good abstract that summarizes what it is about
