Every app crashes with the driver//used to work fine

I had this weird issue where everything was working fine, ps3 camera obs zoom etc.

The other day i had a weird issue regarding a sudden usb problem. I have a usb hub and both peripherals connected to it started malfunctioning (disconnect and reconnect) (mouse and Bluetooth adapter). After switching all my usb to different ports i managed to get everything working again perfectly, except my ps3 camera.
It makes OBS crash when it looks for the directshowfilter on startup, even after i unistall the driver. The only solution to stop obs crashing is to delete ps3driver folder on program files.

It also makes chrome and vlc crash as soon as i try to test the camera. I have tried uninstalling the driver, the camera rebooting SEVERAL times. Then i tried installing forst the driver and then connecting the camera. Nothing is working.

I must clarify the camera works ok on a different pc (laptop) and on my PC with the CL driver but i dont like that driver and it doesnt work on OBS.

I cant try ps3eye driver on laptop because the installer say that the dualcore processor is not supported.

I know its a driver issue and now i have this 2 unknown devices showing up with errors on my control panel and i uninstall them but they keep reappearing every boot and i dont know if they are related to the camera because they show up regardless the camera is connected or not.

I need help guys. I've been using the software 2 years with no problems...

My specs:
Win7 ultimate 64bits
8gb ram
Asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard
Amd rx 570 8gb graphics card
Amd fx 8350 processor

Light flickering on 60 Hz AC network, low FPS

Seems that the drivers do not have any sort of sliders to adjust settings ? Trouble is that it lacks the light flicker filter and it can't utilize the 60 fps 480p resolution, only goes up to 28-30 fps atm. Good thing is that it works with 64-bit programs unlike some of the other drivers.

Use together with PS3 eye open driver for head tracking?

Hi was wondering if this would be possible? Current opentrack only works with ps3 eye open driver libusb-win32 or libusbK. I read from the description this seems to be possible, can you share how?

[Feature Request] Windows Media Foundation Source

Hi, I'm a developer of RPCS3, the PS3 emulator.

Sadly we are not able to connect the PS-Eye to our camera utility on Windows anymore, due to the recent change to Qt6, which seems to have dropped DirectShow support.

I was wondering if you could provide a Windows Media Foundation Source instead.
It seems to have been on your mind already, looking at the Readme section.
It would certainly be great for compatibility in general, since I expect that more and more applications will drop DirectShow sooner or later in favor of newer alternatives.

I noticed there hasn't been any changes to this project in a while, so I hope this reaches someone.
I would also be glad if someone happened to know a different driver for the PS-Eye in case this doesn't work out.

Built-in mic support

Could you please add support for built-in mic of PSEye?
By default win7 have microphone support of PSEye, but after setup Universal PS3 Eye Driver. Microphone vanishes from recording devices and could not be used. I tried to deleting Universal driver, after that microphone works.
But it will be perfect if it could work with mic and cam at the same time.

Can not use multiple Cameras in Opentrack or Driver4VR

Hello!
The driver works great, but I cannot use multiple cameras. Both Opentrack and Driver4vr get confused. I assume because the cameras are named exactly the same.

[Solved] 2755 Error on installation

I was stuck with an error code with the installer of PS3Eye and i investigated to resolve it because it can happen on recent installs of windows.

In the case of a 2755 error code, just go to C:/windows/ and create a directory named "Installer".

That's it, a simple error but needed a lot of investigation to resolve it so i prefer share it here

Camera doesn't work on browsers

the camera is not working on any browser, though I installed the driver & it's working on zoom.
I tried a lot of websites like :

Windows 10 Apps

First of all, I would like to thank you for this amazing driver. This is the only driver on the internet that will work for live streaming with 64bit OBS. OBS is great but I wanted to try AMD's built in service to reduce CPU load.

AMD now has integrated live streaming in their driver software, and it won't pick up my PS Eye.
I tried plugging in several different webcams and they will work as long as the windows Camera app is able to detect it. I heard Windows 10 does not use directshow? Is it possible to get this driver to work with the Windows 10 built in "Camera" app?

HI,

Installed driver, plugged in camera - and at first Device manager simply had a red ! over it, saying "The Device cannot start" - I have eventually now got it to show as "USB Camera-B4.09.24.1" (not under Imaging devices, and nothing under Sound, Video and Game controllers) - but nothing will detect or work with it, windows 'camera' app, OBS, Skype, Discord, Chrome....

Can't get anything to see the camera.... the ONLY one I could get working in any fashion, was the CL driver, and it only worked with it's own 'test' app...

60 FPS support

Would it be possible to have this driver set the ps3 eye framerate to 60fps?

Camera is active with only one program at a time

For example, if OBS is accessing the camera then Teams/Zoom will not display the camera output. I have to completely exit any program accessing the camera if I want to use it in a specific program.

Doesn't work with discord

Trying to use the PS3 eye camera for discord but it only shows up as a black screen. Works correctly on the CL eye testing app but not discord : (

First thank you for this driver :D

I can see that this driver supports multiple cameras but the only problem is that all cameras are listed as a single device(like only 1 device connected) in any app that supports DirectShow like VLC or OBS.

For example if I have 2 PS3 Eye devices connected to the same PC in an app I only see one device called "PS3 Eye Universal" and it is not posible to select a specific camera I just can select "PS3 Eye Universal" and after that I need to test both cameras to see which camera is working.

I can use both cameras at the same time for example opening two times VLC and selecting "PS3 Eye Universal" each time but it will be better if we can select a specific device :D

Is there any option to list each camera as a different device?

Camera and integrated microphone are not recognized at the same time

Hi! I'm Pedro and I don't know much about programming. But I've tried many things to make functional my ps3 eye camera for video meetings, with no positive results on almost all video meeting apps except of zoom.
The problem is that with this controller, plus the code laboratories one, plus OBS studio the apps (google meet, discord) recognize only the camera OR only the mic. How can I make work them at the same time? I'm on Windows 10 64 bit

In the video below you can see that camera actually works just fine with CL-Eye-Driver-5.3.0.0341-Emuline driver but then opentrack bugs out for whatever reason and shows some cropped doubled image at low FPS:

Can you tell me how to make PS3 eye work on Windows with applications like Skype and opentrack? Camera works just fine in CL-EyeTest.exe, so I don't think there's something wrong with a camera. It's drivers.

No mic support at all, Win10 21H2

Been trying to get my PSeye to work on Windows 10 for a while, as I don't have any other webcam. I can get video to show up perfectly fine in most apps, but the built-in mic is not recognised at all, making it essentially useless for me.

Hello, i have a problem cause there is no frameserver for the Cam, thats why i can use it like in SnapCamera or in other Software.

Is it posible that u could do something like that?

All available Cams with frameserver a local here and are in the list of the software visible only.

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\FrameServer\SensorGroups

But i m not 100% sure.

Kinovea - missing frame rates

I was wondering if it is possible to have more FPS options? The 32 bit applications can see 75 fps at 480 and 180.003 fps at 240.

Hello, Star Citizen has a FOIP (face over ip) function to track your face and head movement. It would be great if we can use this at 60fps for FOIP, it's gonna have a lot less delay.
