nba-playoff-pool's Issues

Users need to reset their own passwords

Currently an admin needs to manually reset a user's password. Ultimately we'd like the user to be able to click a button and get an email with a link to reset their password

Can't edit Picks fields in Admin panel

I messed up manual entry of Kevin Gray's MIA-ATL pick. When I went to edit it, I see this:

image

I can't seem to edit the Winner is Favorite field, which is what I need to do.

Can't scroll left-to-right on Pool Picks page with mouse

from Will:
there’s also an annoying thing in Pool Picks where you can’t scroll left to right unless you’re at the bottom of the page, which makes it very hard to see your or anyone else’s full roster of picks

from Jeff:
hot tip for you: hold shift and use the scroll wheel to scroll horizontally

Merge Standings page with Pool Picks page

In the nav bar, there will only be one tab (name TBD) that includes both the overall standings and pool-wide user picks. Within that page, there will be an additional button like "Overall" which will be the overall leaderboard. So for example now, during Round 3, the buttons will be Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Overall

Improve the design of the by-series pick distribution summaries

The distributions of picks by series are all the way at the bottom, which makes them hard to find if you don't know where they are. The colors are also disgusting

Can we move the summary distributions to their own page? Then we can also utilize the bootstrap progress bar, so they look like histograms? Wouldn't that be cool

Fix when Change Picks button shows up

The button came up for me when I hadn't made picks yet for the third round. I had made picks for the first and second rounds, but I couldn't change them

Add round pages

A table with all users, their picks for each matchup in the round, and their scores for those matchups.

Can't see username when left-right scrolling on Pool Picks page

Here's what it looks like scrolled all the way to the left:

And here's what it looks like scrolled all the way to the right:

image

You can't see whose picks you're looking at when the username is off the screen.

Is there an Excel-like Freeze Columns capability?

My Picks page improvements

  • Sort in ascending order of series start time
  • Add the note "You can submit and change your picks up until the start of each series
  • After clicking the Submit Picks button, the series should be sorted in ascending order of start time, and that start time should be printed
  • On that same page, it would be good to have a note about submit and change picks up until start of series as well

Progress bar has too many numbers

When the sub-bar is small, you can't read the number inside it. Ideally there would just be one number inside one bar, so users don't have to add manually
