@vipzen's on issue #23 worked fine for me:
brew install freerdp
export FREERDP2_CFLAGS='-I/usr/local/include'
export FREERDP2_LIBS='-I/usr/local/lib/freerdp'
./configure
make

There is an error in the configuration file which does not allow to disable RDP.
./configure --enable-module-rdp=no

Reworked autoconf check for FreeRDP - issue should no longer be present.
