Setup

• Windows git clone https://github.com/jmzagorski/vimrc.git %USERPROFILE%\vimfiles
• Linux git clone https://github.com/jmzagorski/vimrc.git $HOME/.vim
• If you want all the plugins run vim +PackInstall or once inside vim execute :PackInstall
• Restart vim and enjoy

Plugin:

• Some plugins attempt to install their dependencies. When those cannot be downloaded you should receive warnings in the :message
• Tag plugins need https://github.com/universal-ctags/ctags
• Git plugins need git

Windows

• ConEmu: Make sure to set the CONEMU variable to any value before opening vim. There are a few ui settings that need to take place, but will mess up the default powershell and command prompt

Linux

• For Omnisharp: If using with WSL, my config-linux sets the $USERNAME variable to try and find your exe

vimrc's Issues

When selecting text and entering command mode, highlight is removed

2. Enter command mode
3. Highlight disappears. Could be a plugin?

<C-s> in mappings.vim does not work in ubuntu WSL

/usr/local/share/vim/.backup cannot be created

C# indentation is wrong for multi line statements

The indentation is doubled for some reason:

Readonly icon does not render on the status line for windows command prompt

Change MakeSession to be more cross platform

Maybe don't put the full path name? Just the project name might suffice. Rarely do I have dulpicates.

Remove custom pluign code

KISS. At one point when I was trying to lazy load plugins it was useful, but not anymore.

setlocal mouse="" for terminal

Since mouse=a you cannot highlight text in the terminal: use setlocal mounse="" For new buffers run terminal check &buftype == 'terminal

MakeSession fails if sessions folder does not exist

Tags are put in root of directory

tag files should be put in an already hidden folder so i dont have to .gitignore them

<C-%> does not jump to ending tag in html

Powershell/cmd in windows terminal flash when searching

Custom Ultisnips <F5> does not work in ubuntu WSL

Will change the mapping

vim-racer autoload functions name is wrong

e.g. vim-racer Autload function name does not match file and echoing the env. variable into .profile does not work as expected.

Does not work in window 10 command prompt

I've worked in ConEmu so long (which is starting to run slow) that I never tested my changes in the command prompt.

Automate fresh install for docker

Would be nice to pull down vim + ctags and this config and then have in a Dockerfile RUN vim +PackInstall +:q. Right now I am going into the container and:

1. Install vim + ctags
2. Pull down this repo
3. Run vim +Packinstall +:q. Need to have falg to autoinstall minpac
   note: for csharp need to run +Omnisharp and hide [Press Enter] prompt
4. run git config --global user.name and user.email
