azure-static-web-apps-a-netlify-alternative's Issues

Trouble with initial "Create Our Application" instructions.

@johnnyreilly trying this out as trying to create a Static Web app for our charity to host our website, hopefully in a way that other members can post news articles etc.
Firstly - I hope that as it two years since your last commits to this, that it is valid and applicable...

  1. In the Create our Application when I ran the npx create-docusaurus@latest test-Docusaurus classic command I was instructed to first upgrade nmp with: npm install -g [email protected], which I did. Docusaurus install seemed to work OK thereafter.
When I re-ran the docusaurus install I got some warnings:
[INFO] Creating new Docusaurus project... [INFO] Installing dependencies with npm... npm WARN deprecated [email protected]: Modern JS already guarantees Array#sort() is a stable sort, so this library is deprecated. See the compatibility table on MDN: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Array/sort#browser_compatibility npm WARN deprecated @babel/[email protected]: This proposal has been merged to the ECMAScript standard and thus this plugin is no longer maintained. Please use @babel/plugin-transform-object-rest-spread instead. npm WARN deprecated [email protected]: Use String.prototype.trim() instead added 1122 packages, and audited 1123 packages in 2m 22 vulnerabilities (4 moderate, 18 high) To address issues that do not require attention, run:   npm audit fix Some issues need review, and may require choosing a different dependency. Run npm auditfor details. [SUCCESS] Created test-Docusaurus. [INFO] Inside that directory, you can run several commands:  npm start    Starts the development server.  npm run build    Bundles your website into static files for production.  npm run serve    Serves the built website locally.  npm deploy    Publishes the website to GitHub pages. We recommend that you begin by typing:  cd test-Docusaurus npm startHappy building awesome websites!

  2. After creating the website - you simply state "Let's commit and push this and turn our attention to Azure." but don't state HOW?
During the creating of the static web-site I made a fork of your repository and referenced that; so it's obviously NOT synchronised to my npm Docusaurus version! The static web app appears to function, including the Github Actions.

  3. However, I've fallen down somewhat with the instructions under Staging Environments where it says to run git checkout -b feat/show-me-staging... (from the directory where the Docusaurus was created on my laptop!).

Relative newbie to both Azure and GitHub (but a programmer of old previously using Perforce at work for source control! 15 years ago!).
