imageconverter's Issues

Image does Not Convert

I have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Image Converter. I am able to add file (.cr2), I have selected the output folder on my PC, Output format (.jpeg and .png) and accept the remaining defaulted settings. When I click convert the pane does show that the file is converting, but never finished. When I go check the output folder the file does appear but it is corrupt. What am I doing wrong?

Loss of exif data

You have a selection to save metadata, however, there is still a significant loss of other data. I believe its exif? Can you implement changes to also preserve exif data?

auto output to folder of source file

Hello, no bug report, but feature request:
when converting multiple files from multiple folders, it would be great to have the option to auto output to the source folder of the source files.

Why? Well, I "collected" to many GoPro files during the last couple of years and wouldn't need them as jpeg anymore.

e.g.
a) Instead of files, add a folder to convert it's containing *.extensionA to *.extensionB
b) Add multiple files and have a checkbox saying something like 'export files to their source file's folder'

Possible AVIF Support

Hi!

Thank you for making such great software. I'm looking to convert my decades-old photos to a very efficient format and I thought AVIF would be the best fit for this case. I tried to use your software but noticed this doesn't support AVIF yet.

Do you plan to have AVIF support in the near future? Don't hesitate to close this issue as wontfix if you have no intention to support it.

Probably libavif would help a lot if you're going to do this.

File name changes

It would be great if the filenames could be preserved. Otherwise love the app works without a hitch
