modelchecker only prints failures to screen

I don't yet see a clean way to see if a test failed. The checking code returns void and only throws in a subset of cases where things go wrong (and swallows errors in many cases).

The code quality is rather frustrating (and a bit hard to believe it is correct given how poorly structured it is, but maybe it is just really old fashioned).

add support for pluscal

the amazon paper said that many engineers preferred to work with pluscal. The translator is part of the tools, so we should be able to support it pretty easily.
