breadcrumbus's Issues

Could you add subdomain to main domain function ?

Hi,

With Firefox 56 and below, I used Advanced Location bar, and it allowed to click on the main domain when we where on a subdomain, now with Firefox 57 and up I'm willing to use your extension as a replacement, but a feature is missing:

Example: on https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/breadcrumbus/ we should have the possibility to go to mozilla.org and it should be on top of all other choices.

Also, could you add an option to open it in a new tab instead of the current tab ?

Regards.

Vertical layout breaks sometimes

After first installing this, when I was testing it out it would somewhat regularly break when displaying vertically (with or without horizontal display enabled) if the pop-up was closed then immediately re-opened or opened right after switching tabs. It would stop showing the URL components vertically and instead show them horizontally, and all entries would just be {{p.display}}. This was about a week ago, and when I went to test it again now, before posting an issue about it, I couldn't get it to do it anymore, except for very briefly when rapidly clicking the button, and then it would immediately fix itself. So it seems the capability to break is still there (and there hasn't been an update to it since it was breaking), but for whatever reason, maybe the absence of a particular addon I was testing before, it seems less susceptible to breaking now. This is in Waterfox 56.1.0x64; in Firefox 59.0.3x64 I can't even click it fast enough to cause this as it doesn't respond quite as fast.

Vertical mode - clickable whole row

Some breadcrumbs are too narrow - it would be nice if the anchor element had 100% width (even if visually it would still be short).

Also there is some visual glitch where some breadcrumbs are glued together:

I'm not sure what layout are you using but simple flex column with some margin should make it work easily.

Should allow to remove subdomains only.

Hi!

In this day and age many (foolish) websites tack a domain prefix such as "m." for a mobile variant of the webpage, and then of course people link it, or the browser syncs it as such to desktop. So it would come really handy in some cases.

It would also aid in the classic problem of removing pointless "www."-s.

[Request] Keyboard Usability

Request: Add a keyboard shortcut to show the breadcrumb trail, and then allow selecting the level to navigate to via arrow keys.

Reason: Due to RSI, I try to use the keyboard as much as possible to limit my wrist movement.

Web port bug/feature

Hi,
I'm not sure if it's by design or not, but it would be really helpful to include the port number if there's one.
Example: subdomain.domain.ext:8080, if I click subdomain it will try to load subdomain.domain.ext, without the port number.

BR,
Petar

Questions

I can't find anywhere that says what the "Hide page action (icon in address bar)" option does, and AFAICT it doesn't do anything. So what is it for? Also, the theme doesn't change anything. And is there a reason the / after the domain is included with the next part (e.g. github.com /jokokko/ instead of github.com/ jokokko/ )? It's a minor thing, and doesn't really matter, but it seems strange. And it seems intentional, so I'm assuming there's a reason for it.

Move breadcrumbus button into location bar

Hi, thanks for your add-on!

Did you consider implementing it as a "page action" to place the button (with a monochrome/grayscale icon maybe?) in the adress bar? It would be closer to the URL there...

Cheers!

feature/suggestion - icon, alternate way of navigating

if there has to be an icon to use the extension due to limitations of WebExt API, it would be nice to have an option to always show it in the address bar perhaps, not just when it loads the URL

however, what i find much easier is to use the scroll wheel to segment the URL - Scroll Up Folder works this way, but its legacy

another method is to segment the URL in the address bar so its parts can be clicked (if the WebExt API allows)

either way, i imagine it would be less code since you wouldn't need an icon or the panel that displays the segments

thanks for segmenting parameters though! a lot of these type add-ons fail to do this

[Suggestion] Add a nicer icon ?

Right now the icon in the url bar is a bit misleading, the B looks like a E.
I'm not a graphic designer, but I think something like this or that should be better.
