container-library's Issues

Add style guide for docker image

All docker images are to have a baseline commonality:

  • tmux, nvim, helix and PowerShell installed and configured.
  • Configurations are called from etc/bashrc, including aliases.
  • New bash libraries are added to /bin/bash
  • README houses gif showing login, print language versions, relevant environment variables
    • this gif is updated in the appropriate readme with relevant releases via GitHub actions or similar
  • automated testing to validate these things

Add an Edirectory Compose file

Feature Overview

Add a compose file to use for eDirectory, assuming users have a tarball of the needed image

Full Description

  • Show how users can implement the compose file for their own needs
  • Include a README file on how to use this w/o having to clone the repo

Remember, the point of documenting this is to remove the need for anyone to come and ask you to provide more detail or information before they can fulfill this enhancement request.

Acceptance Criteria

  • README includes instructions on using the container
  • README iterates that the user is to supply their own image of eDir.

Add Golang installer for rpm based images

Script or otherwise written such that an additional image configuration can be applied to images with compatible package managers

acceptance criteria

  • script and metadata can be applied to rpm based docker images
  • automated publishing workflows will be able to include this script and metadata to properly tag docker images.

Create a README, not a Contributing Doc

Feature Overview

Short, sweet and descriptive summary of the feature

  • Add a README with a Project Overview

Acceptance Criteria

  • README displays nothing about style guide.
  • README shows what containers are available in this repo
  • README shows HOW to use this repo.
